CFNS CHAIRMAN ADDRESSES HADASSAH REGIONAL CONFERENCE

Enroll in Seminars LinkCFNS’s Chairman, Dr. William Saxton, recently addressed male Associates and regular members of Hadassah – the Women’s Zionist Organization of America - at its Florida Atlantic Region annual conference in West Palm Beach. His early-May talk focused mainly on activities of radical Islamists within the United States.

In addition to giving a detailed description of the overt, Pakistan-based Jamaat ul-Fuqra (aka Muslims of America in our country), Dr. Saxton spoke about how Islamic extremists are using stealth methods in the U.S. to raise money, and trying to win the hearts and minds of our youth. In contrast to the relatively high visibility of the former – 35 training camps in 22 states - he cited their more subtle techniques, such as cigarette smuggling and creating networks for clipping and redeeming consumer coupons to fund their international operations; and, inculcating their propaganda into textbooks used by K-12 public and private schools.

Judging by the almost endless Q&A following Dr. Saxton’s formal remarks, it appeared that he had really connected with attendees. As one of them put it, “Your presentation, although scary and disturbing, was fascinating to everyone who listened to you rapt in attention.” Dr. Saxton was also impressed with the positive way that those in attendance reacted to his suggestions for how they could personally become involved in dealing with these threats to our national security. “I clearly touched a lot of nerves,” he commented.

Dr. Saxton fields inquiries from concerned Hadassah members on radical Islamist activities within the United States.

CFNS SPONSORS TALKS ON
WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION

This past February, Citizens for National Security presented two lectures on Weapons of Mass Destruction for members of Florida Atlantic University’s Lifelong Learning Society in both Boca Raton and Jupiter, Florida. Drs. Leitner and Saxton, assisted by CFNS consultant Michael Maloof, were the speakers.

LLS students were given an understanding of the various types and classifications of WMD: chemical, biological, nuclear and radiological. Notwithstanding the endless speculation and controversy over the existence and use of WMD, specific details about its origin, motivation, and possible fulfillment were also discussed.

After summarizing past, present and future WMD threats, the CFNS trio spoke about proliferation issues, the relationship between terrorism and WMD, and possible WMD delivery methods. Special attention was given to the mass destruction potential of electromagnetic pulse attacks – the latest WMD threat to emerge.

The lectures at both sites were extremely well received. Based upon surveys following the talks, CFNS and its presenters earned top ratings from those who attended. “Weapons of mass destruction are not the most pleasant of subjects,” Dr. Saxton noted, “but it was gratifying to see how eager the audience was to learn more about them, and how highly they thought of the way we covered the topic.”

INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP HELD ON RADICAL ISLAMIST
THREAT TO AMERICA

A capacity audience was on hand at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida last April to participate in a workshop conducted by Citizens for National Security aimed at informing ordinary citizens on what they can do about the radical Islamist threat to America. Led by CFNS principal organizers Dr. William A. Saxton and Dr. Peter Leitner, the interactive, hands-on Workshop was an all-day combination of education and training.

Dr. Leitner
Dr. Leitner reported on the development of Islamist insurgencies in the United States. He showed attendees how to profile insurgents and how to develop observational skills. He also discussed research and analysis methods and technologies, and cited actual cases.

Dr. Saxton
Dr. Saxton related that he was most gratified by the intense desire of the registrants to learn more about the threat of militant Islam to the U.S. and their enthusiasm for wanting to do something about it. He predicted that based upon the huge success of this event, CFNS will be doing many more such presentations in the near term.

CFNS PRINCIPALS ORGANIZE LECTURE ON
HOW ISLAMIST INSURGENCIES OPERATE IN AMERICA

Drs. William Saxton and Peter Leitner - principal organizers of Citizens for National Security - recently organized and presented a special lecture on how the Islamist insurgency operates within the United States for Florida Atlantic University's Lifelong Learning Society. They were assisted by F. Michael Maloof, who worked as a security policy analyst during a 23-year career in the Department of Defense. Approximately 1000 LLS members and guests attended at FAU's Boca Raton and Jupiter, Florida campuses.

The overall focus of the lecture was on the characteristics of the radical Islamist insurgency as a protracted "political war" which has been waged without opposition in this country since 1964. Attendees got an in-depth, inside look at the mission, goals, organization, methods of operation, and implications of this insurgent movement within our borders. They also learned about the failure of our government to recognize - let alone take measures to address - this extraordinarily malicious assault on our multicultural society.

"To a person, the [LLS attendees] had great praise for you and your colleagues," Ely Meyerson, FAU's Assistant Provost for the Lifelong Learning Society, later told Dr. Saxton. He elaborated by saying that typical response patterns underscored how professional and very well prepared the speakers were; the need for lengthier presentations on the subject as a result of the lecture being so informative; and, the general lack of knowledge among the registrants about the scope and seriousness of the [Islamist extremist] problem prior to attending the event.
